Objectives

• Lead research into subsurface exploration technologies across the upstream value chain


• Focus on challenges/opportunities identification, characterization for oil & gas exploration


• Generate innovative solutions ideas for oil & gas exploration in all terrains

Key Responsibilities

• Collate and evaluate subsurface exploration challenges/ opportunities and generate solution ideas.


• Define subsurface exploration plan, data requirements, gathering and validation.


• Use data analytics to assess oil & gas exploration problems and proffer solutions


• Carryout hypothesis, experiments, design and simulations of viable solutions in oil & gas exploration


• Supervise execution of innovative research on exploration problems challenges/ opportunities.

Educational Qualification

• A first degree in Geosciences/Engineering and related fields


• Membership of relevant professional bodies eg. COREN, NSE, SPE, CPN, NAPE, etc.


• Certifications (eg. Innovation Management, Design Thinking and Innovation Strategy, etc.) are additional advantage

• Oil & Gas Exploration Operations skill


• Industrial Data Analysis


• Research Methodology skill


• Advanced skill in Innovation Process


• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 research

Experience

• Minimum of 9 years relevant post qualification experience


• Experience in the oil and gas industry will be an added advantage.
