Job Overview
The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial activities of the NGO, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and standards. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, overseeing budgeting processes, and ensuring efficient financial management and reporting. The Accountant will work closely with program and administrative staff to support the financial health and sustainability of the organization.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the NGO sector.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Commitment to the NGO’s mission and values.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in managing grants and donor-funded projects.
- Knowledge of local accounting and tax regulations.
