Job Description



Job Objective:



  • Taking a leadership role in a wide range of accounting functions which supports issuance of the company’s financial statements, supporting schedules, and analysis of data that feeds into the General Ledger accounts.

  • Taking responsibility for executing established accounting processes efficiently and effectively.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage and oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and tax compliance.

  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets for the company.

  • Analyze financial data and make recommendations to improve financial performance and profitability.

  • Coordinates store physical inventories and the reconciliation of each.

  • Reconcile various Income Statements and Balance Sheet Accounts, including Bank Reconciliations.

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all accounting transactions.

  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records and documentation and optimize the utilization of the ERP for accounting and finance functions

  • Assist in the preparation of annual audits and tax returns.

  • Train and supervise accounting staff to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

  • Provides inventory reporting at different levels (department, store, company) for the period close and ad hoc.

  • Participate in the development of financial strategies and objectives for the company.


Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or any related field.

  • Relevant financial qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and understanding of relevant regulatory environments

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role in inventory management or a retail chain setting

  • Knowledge of accounting, tax, and reporting standards & principles

  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Suite; Outlook, and Excel (VBA competency desired) - including demonstrated formula usage, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams

  • Able to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy.

  • Strong knowledge of working with Accounting and Financial Software such as Sage, QuickBooks, etc.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that can be used across all levels of the organization.

  • Able to build working relationships and work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
