Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Litigation/Commercial Lawyer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both litigation and commercial law, with the ability to handle complex legal matters efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:


Litigation Management



  • Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.

  • Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategy.

  • Advise clients on legal rights and obligations, and develop litigation strategies.

  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.


Commercial Law



  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including but not limited to service agreements, NDAs, and partnership agreements.

  • Provide legal advice on business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations in all commercial dealings.

  • Assist clients with risk management and mitigation strategies.

  • Conduct due diligence and prepare reports for clients on various commercial matters.


Client Relations



  • Maintain and build strong relationships with clients, providing timely and effective legal counsel.

  • Communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and accessible manner.

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with existing and potential clients.


Team Collaboration



  • Work closely with colleagues across different practice areas to provide comprehensive legal support.

  • Contribute to the firm’s knowledge base by sharing expertise and best practices.


Job Requirements



  • At least a second-class upper degree from a recognized university as well as the Nigerian Law School. Relevant post graduate qualifications may be an added advantage, but are not a requirement

  • 10+ years active experience in litigation/ alternative dispute resolution and active transactional experience and capable of drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.

  • Strong legal ability, a practical commercial approach and excellent drafting and communication skills

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
