Job Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of all facility maintenance activities. This includes strategic planning, execution of maintenance procedures, management of resources and budgets, and ensuring optimal performance of all machinery and equipment. The role is pivotal in driving a maintenance strategy that aligns with the company's goals, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with all operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Oversight:
- Lead and supervise all maintenance operations and processes, ensuring adherence to safety standards and policies.
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies focused on preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Conduct performance evaluations for maintenance personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill development.
- Manage and develop protocols for maintenance emergencies, ensuring swift and effective response to minimize downtime.
Operational Excellence:
- Oversee the maintenance of all machinery to ensure they operate at optimal performance standards.
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
- Plan, manage, and coordinate all repair and installation activities to ensure timely and efficient execution.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of parts, monitor purchase orders, approve invoices, and manage the maintenance budget effectively.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with relevant health and safety laws, promoting a safe working environment.
- Develop and manage safety protocols to mitigate risks associated with maintenance operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- HND or BSc. Degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
- Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in maintenance, with previous managerial experience preferred.
- In-depth understanding of plumbing, metal work, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of facility machinery and equipment operations.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and strategic planning abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team development and collaboration.
