- The Electromechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, installation, and maintenance of both electrical and mechanical systems within our recycling facilities.
- This role demands a versatile engineer proficient in both electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines to ensure the optimal performance of our equipment and processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct general maintenance inspections, perform routine electrical maintenance, and respond to faults in electrical systems and machinery to ensure optimal operation.
- System Design and Improvement: Design, develop, and implement electro-mechanical systems and processes that enhance recycling operations, including automation systems for sorting and processing materials.
- Equipment Specifications: Develop and establish specifications for electrical and mechanical equipment used in the recycling process, ensuring they meet operational requirements.
- Process Optimization: Analyze existing processes to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, production staff, and quality assurance teams, to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical support and training to staff on the operation and maintenance of electro-mechanical systems and equipment.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, maintenance logs, and operational procedures, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Project Management: Plan and manage engineering projects related to the installation and upgrade of recycling equipment, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all electrical and mechanical systems comply with safety regulations and standards to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years experience as an Electrical or Mechanical Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including PLCs, motors, sensors, and automation.
- Proficient in CAD software and other engineering design tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in the recycling or waste management industry.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
