  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Anesthetist to join our team.

  • The Nurse Anesthetist will be responsible for administering anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.


Responsibilities



  • Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained in the anesthetic rooms at all times and that non-stock requisition orders are dealt with appropriately.

  • Commit to expanding existing skills and assisting in the planning and implementation of the anesthetic and peri-operative assessment nursing role.

  • Develop good interpersonal relationships with nursing staff through effective communication and sound management systems.

  • Ensure optimal use of manpower resources through careful planning and monitoring of off-duty scheduling.

  • Provide direction to all staff within the department on the proper handling of materials, apparatus, and tools for patient care.

  • Participate in training programs to achieve personal development and specialization.

  • Conduct pre- and post-operative education by providing verbal instructions to patients’ families or guardians during the pre-operative period about the surgical experience.

  • Serve as the communication liaison between the family and members of the operating team.

  • Interact with patients, families, and visitors in a mature, courteous, and responsible manner to ensure a positive and professional hospital environment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.

Requirements



  • Registration with the National Association of Nurses and Midwifery of Nigeria

  • Must be licensed to practice as an anesthetic nurse

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • Certificate of Nurse Anesthesia Program.

  • 1-3 years experience.

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office package

  • Outstanding communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and people management skills

  • Possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act

  • Knowledge of safety and injection control practices.
