Job Overview
- The Women's Wear Cutter is responsible for accurately cutting fabrics for women's clothing, ensuring precision and quality in each piece.
- The cutter will work closely with the design and sewing teams to bring creative concepts to life, following patterns and specifications provided by designers.
Key Responsibilities
Fabric Cutting:
- Accurately cut fabrics according to patterns, designs, and specifications.
- Ensure minimal fabric wastage while maximizing fabric usage.
- Handle various types of fabrics, including delicate and high-end materials.
Pattern Interpretation:
- Read and interpret patterns, sketches, and technical specifications.
- Adjust patterns as necessary to accommodate different sizes and styles.
Quality Control:
- Inspect fabrics and materials for defects before cutting.
- Ensure all cut pieces meet the company's quality standards and specifications.
Coordination with Design and Production Teams:
- Collaborate with designers to understand the design vision and any special requirements.
- Work closely with the sewing team to ensure accurate assembly of cut pieces.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain cutting equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Keep cutting tools sharp and well-maintained.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven experience as a fabric cutter, preferably in women's fashion.
- Proficient in using cutting equipment and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret patterns and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of different fabric types and their handling.
- Attention to Detail: Strong eye for detail to ensure precision and quality in cutting.
- Communication Skills:Ability to effectively communicate with design and production teams.
- Physical Stamina:Ability to stand for extended periods and handle large rolls of fabric.
- Additional training or certification in fashion design or textile production is a plus.
