Job Overview
- The Production Manager, reporting directly to the Director of Production, will be responsible for managing and overseeing the production process to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with safety standards.
- This role also includes supervising the local staff, maintaining discipline, and enforcing management directives to achieve production goals.
Responsibilities
Production Management:
- Assist the Director of Production in planning and implementing the production schedule to meet company targets. Ensure that production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Quality Assurance:
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits of the production process to identify and address any issues.
Staff Supervision and Development:
- Supervise local staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Maintain discipline and resolve any personnel issues that arise.
Coordination and Communication:
- Coordinate with the production team and other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of products. Communicate production goals, progress, and issues to the Director of Production and other relevant stakeholders.
Health and Safety:
- Ensure that all production activities comply with health and safety regulations. Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. Conduct regular safety training and drills for the production team.
Requirements
- Preferred candidate should be within the age range of 35-45 years old.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience.
- Degree in Engineering, mining, Geology or a related field.
- Extensive experience working in a large organization, preferably in a manufacturing, mining or construction environment.
- Proven track record of managing production processes and leading teams.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to enforce discipline and maintain a high standard of work ethic among staff.
- Proficiency in relevant software and production management tools.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
