About the Role



  • Farmz2U is seeking a passionate and experienced Business Development Manager to join our rapidly growing team in Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will play a key role in driving our sales growth and achieving ambitious targets by developing strong relationships with potential and existing buyers.

  • You will oversee our sales operations across Nigeria whilst also supporting Kenyan sales operations.

  • You will play a critical role in driving our business growth and expansion. You will be an early Hitchhiker, shaping the team culture and fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment.


Responsibilities



  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Utilize various channels to identify and qualify new sales opportunities, building a robust sales pipeline.

  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with potential and existing buyers, understanding their needs and proposing solutions that add value to their businesses.

  • Sales Presentations and Negotiations: Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations that showcase Farmz2u's offerings and negotiate win-win deals.

  • Customer Onboarding and Retention: Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new customers and develop strategies to foster long-term relationships and portfolio growth.

  • Market Research and Insights: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and inform strategic sales decisions.

  • Collaboration: Partner effectively with internal teams (e.g., operations and product) to ensure a seamless customer experience.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Track sales performance against targets, analyze data, and provide insights to optimize sales strategies.


Qualifications



  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a sales role within the agriculture, technology, or e-commerce industries.

  • Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas and achieving ambitious targets.

  • Strong understanding of the agricultural sector and its challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa (a plus).

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to build rapport and trust with clients at all levels.

  • Strong negotiation and deal-closing skills.

  • Proficient in CRM software and comfortable using sales tools and technology.

  • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • A passion for Farmz2u's mission and contributing to a more sustainable food system in Africa.

  • Cultural fit is highly valued, with a passion for contributing to the development of Africa's informal markets.
