Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced, team and goal-oriented candidate to fill the position of an Account Officer/Supervisor. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department such as preparation of financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining general ledger, preparing tax returns, helping the company be fully aware of its financial condition, assisting with audit preparations and performing other accounting duties.
Job Responsibilities:
- Reconcile all business accounts to ensure our records match up and no transaction gets lost.
- Handle all accounts payable and receivable on a daily basis to make sure each invoice and expenses report are complete and accurate.
- Create detailed journal entries and post them to ledgers to track all income statements and expenses.
- Facilitates the preparation of payments schedules
- Preparing relevant accounts and tax returns.
- Monitoring spending and budgets.
- Review and analyze financial performance of Cost and Profit centres.
- Compiling and presenting financial and budget reports weekly, monthly and quarterly.
- Ensure that financial statements and records comply with laws and regulations
- Keeping account books and systems up to date.
- Complete analysis of the employee expenditures.
- Prepare file and remit taxes and other financial obligations
- Ensure financial activities comply with all company, local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations.
- Compiling, analyzing, and reporting on financial data.
- Creating periodic performance review and financial reports
- Perform necessary reviews and resolve discrepancies.
We are looking for:
- Minimum of HND or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics. ICAN / Relevant professional certification is an added advantage but essential.
- Have 2 years and above continuous industry or practical experience in a well-structured organization preferably in Farm Operations.
- Have an excellent understanding of accounting principles, concepts, and procedures.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have relevant practical & Indepth Manual Accounting experience, IT Proficiency especially on MS Office suit and automated accounting programs.
- Be highly detail-oriented with superb managerial and organizational skills.
- Be able to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
- Be an excellent problem solver.
- Possess the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Be able to carry out any other responsibilities or assignments given by the Chief Accountant.
