Job Description
The Security Control Center Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating the CCTV cameras and associated systems to protect the company’s employees, assets, and visitors. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency security situations.
What You’ll Do:
CCTV Monitoring:
- Monitor live and recorded video feeds from security cameras installed in all company locations to detect suspicious activities or security breaches.
- Conduct routine checks of CCTV systems to ensure functionality and report any malfunctions.
Alarm Management and emergency response:
- Respond promptly to alarm activations and assess the situation via CCTV and other security systems.
- Activate security or emergency services as required.
- Implement and follow established emergency response protocols during incidents.
- Coordinate with emergency services and provide real-time information to assist in resolving incidents.
Incident Reporting:
- Document all incidents, suspicious activities, and security breaches in detailed reports.
- Maintain accurate logs of all activities and incidents.
Access Control:
- Monitor and manage electronic access control systems to ensure authorized entry and exit.
- Assist with visitor management and ensure compliance with security protocols.
Communication:
- Maintain clear and effective communication with on-site security personnel, emergency services, and management.
- Relay critical information promptly and accurately during emergencies.
Requirements
Education:
- HND or equivalent. Additional certifications in security or related fields are preferred.
Experience:
- At least two years experience in a security control room or similar environment is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in operating CCTV systems, alarm systems, and other security technology.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while monitoring security feeds.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive during shift hours.
Work Environment:
- The role is primarily based in a control room environment, requiring prolonged periods of sitting and monitoring screens.
- Will require working in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
