Job Description:
The Finance Officer is responsible for the day-to-day management of financial transactions and procedures in line with the organizational policies and principles. The ideal candidate is an individual with excellent organizational and analytical skills, detail-oriented, strong numeracy skills, deep commercial awareness, strong problem-solving skills, fantastic negotiation skills and has an investigative nature.
Responsibilities:
- Perform financial management duties including generating financial data, compiling and submitting reports, analyzing industry trends and assessing the financial health of the company.
- Monitor day to day financial operations within the company such as invoicing, cash collection, expenditure, and other transactions.
- Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement and seek out methods for minimizing financial risk to the company
- Oversee the operations and development of the company’s finance department including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, training and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.
- Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards and assist with cash flow forecasting.
- Effectively optimizing the company’s accounting software to enhance effective operational efficiency.
- Manage accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivables etc.
- Maintain good relationship with vendors, suppliers, customers and related party companies by releasing payment promptly once approval has been made by management.
- Review, monitor, and manage departmental budgets.
- Develop strategies that work to minimize financial risk.
- Resolve financial disputes raised between Clients, Service and Sales Teams.
- Any other task assigned to you.
Education & Trainings
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
- Professional qualification as a ICAN or its equivalent is considered a plus.
Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years proven work experience as an Account Officer in Supply Chain/Procurement.
- Sound knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Excel
- Sound knowledge of foreign exchange payment/transactions.
