Job Function



  • This role helps in optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of transport operations.

  • This position is responsible for analyzing and interpreting relevant operational data that will provide actionable insights to support decision-making, improve operational performance, and reduce costs associated with transport operations.


Key Performance Areas:



  • Monitor and analyze fuel consumption data across the fleet.

  • Identify patterns and trends in fuel usage and recommend strategies to improve fuel efficiency.

  • Develop reports and dashboards that track fuel efficiency metrics and highlight areas for improvement.

  • Track and report on truck availability to ensure that the fleet is optimally utilized.

  • Analyze downtime data and identify causes of reduced truck availability.

  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and ensure high fleet availability.

  • Analyze data on truck utilization to determine how effectively the fleet is being used.

  • Identify underutilized trucks and suggest reallocation or other strategies to maximize utilization.

  • Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor truck utilization rates and provide regular updates to management

  • Analyze trip cycle data to identify inefficiencies in routing, loading, and unloading times.

  • Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize trip planning and reduce cycle times.

  • Provide insights into trip cycle patterns and recommend improvements to enhance overall operational efficiency

  • Monitor and analyze driver behaviour data, including speed, braking patterns, and adherence to safety protocols.

  • Identify risky driving behaviors and work with the SFCs and the training team to implement corrective measures.

  • Develop and maintain driver performance dashboards that track key behaviour metrics and provide regular feedback

  • Collect and analyze data related to accidents and incidents involving the fleet.

  • Identify trends and root causes of accidents and recommend preventive measures.

  • Work with the safety team to develop and implement accident reduction strategies and monitor their effectiveness.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate key metrics and insights to stakeholders.

  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reports and analysis.

  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and other key stakeholders.

  • Work closely with the operations, logistics, maintenance, and safety teams to drive continuous improvement in transport operations.

  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to data analysis and transport operations.


Qualifications Required:



  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence) will be added advantage.


Experience and Skills Required:



  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the transport, logistics, or supply chain industry.

  • Proven experience in analyzing large datasets and providing actionable insights.

  • Strong experience with data analysis tools and software

  • Data Analysis experience

  • Geographical knowledge of Nigeria

  • Experienced in fleet monitoring is an added advantage

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Proficient in statistical analysis

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.

  • Familiarity with transport management systems (TMS) and fleet management software is preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to identifying and solving issues.
