Job Summary:

• The Collection and Recovery Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing the collections and recovery processes for our credit and loan business.


• This includes developing and implementing strategies to minimize delinquency rates and recover outstanding debts.


• The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in collections and recovery within the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective collections and recovery strategies to minimize delinquency rates and recover outstanding debts.


• Lead and manage the collections and recovery team to achieve performance goals.


• Monitor and analyze delinquency trends and implement corrective actions as needed.


• Build and maintain relationships with clients to facilitate timely debt repayment.


• Develop and enforce collections policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.


• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to manage legal actions and settlements related to debt recovery.


• Provide training and support to the collections and recovery team to enhance their skills and performance.


• Prepare and present collections and recovery reports to senior management.


• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively manage risks.


• Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications is a plus.


• Minimum of 7 years of experience in collections and recovery within the financial services industry, preferably in credit and loan businesses.


• Proven track record of achieving collections and recovery targets.


• Strong knowledge of collections principles, practices, and techniques.


• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Experience with collections software and tools.


• In-depth understanding of the financial services industry and regulatory environment in Nigeria.
