  • Develop, monitor and implement overall HR strategies, systems, and procedures aligned with the overall business strategy of the company.

  • Manage the recruitment and selection process of direct and contract staff for Company, including functioning as interface with outsourcing firms to recruit and manage contract staff working for Company.

  • Initiate new hire screening for employment, including reviewing CVs from “referrals” and application portal; overseeing background screening process; arranging pre-employment medical process; obtaining all new-hire forms, materials, and documentation; approving and/or issuing “Offer Letter” & “Employment Agreements” for staff.

  • Conduct and/or manage “Exit Interviews” of staff; track and monitor staff turn-over.

  • Manage payroll, welfare and benefits, including insurance, medical cover, and pensions of direct staff.

  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.

  • Bridge management and staff (whether direct or contract) relations by addressing demands, grievances, and other related issues.

  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal and reward system for staff that drives excellent performance.

  • Assess training needs, develop training plan and implement and monitor training programs of staff.

  • Manage and ensure HR related compliance requirements are up to date [NSITF, ITF, NHF, PENCOM, etc].

  • Legal, contracts and regulatory compliance support to the compliance department as may be assigned including:

    • Identifying compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation.

    • Conducting or directing the internal investigation of compliance issues.

    • Disseminate and implement company written policies and procedures generally, and as it relates to compliance activities in particular.

    • File appropriate compliance reports with regulatory agencies.

    • Collaborate with human resources departments to ensure the implementation of consistent disciplinary action strategies in cases of compliance standard violations.

    • Human resources responsibilities.

    • Company secretarial & corporate affairs

    • Management & implementation of staff welfare and benefits



  • Budget and Planning

  • Any other duty as may be assigned, incidental to the foregoing.


Requirements



  • A University Degree in Human Resource Management and Law, or any other relevant discipline.

  • 5+ years of post-NYSC work experience in Human Resource is required; with at least 2 years’ experience in Law handling executive management activities.

  • Skilled at the use of Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint).

  • Evidence of working seamlessly with people at low, mid-level and top management.

  • Good writing, presentation, key attention to details and general communication skills.

  • Must have a good knowledge of labour and employment law and regulations.

  • A good knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements in the Oil & Gas industry, maritime operations and applicable laws will be an added advantage.

  • Ability to work under pressure.
