Job Responsibilities

As an Accountant, your primary responsibility will be to manage the financial operations and reporting for the company. These responsibilities include:


Financial Reporting and Analysis:



  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  • Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement.

  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support business decisions.Monitor key financial indicators, such as profitability, liquidity, and solvency.


General Ledger Management:



  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Record and classify financial transactions, including revenue, expenses, and assets.

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.


Budgeting and Forecasting:



  • Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and forecasts.

  • Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.

  • Identify areas of cost savings and efficiency improvements.

  • Provide financial insights for strategic planning and goal setting.


Accounts Payable and Receivable:



  • Manage accounts payable processes, including vendor invoice processing and payment.

  • Process and monitor accounts receivable, including customer billing and collections.

  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of vendor and customer accounts.

  • Address inquiries and resolve issues related to accounts payable and receivable.


Tax Compliance and Reporting:



  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax.

  • Prepare and submit tax returns and related documentation.

  • Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits.


Internal Controls and Audit:



  • Develop and implement internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.

  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.

  • Identify control weaknesses and recommend improvements.


Cross-functional Collaboration:



  • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, purchasing, and sales, to gather financial data and provide financial insights.

  • Work closely with the finance team to streamline processes and enhance financial reporting capabilities.

  • Support management in special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis such as waste analysis ETC


Qualifications



  • Candidates should possess a Minmum of B.Sc or HND in Accounting. (Knowledge of Auditing will be an advantage)

  • Minimum of 3 Years and Maximum of 6 years experience is required.
