Job Description
As Storage Administrator, you are given tasks within implementing, monitoring, and maintaining our 2 storage solutions, providing backup services for all company's applications. Storage systems used are Dell and HP.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee storage infrastructure, including servers, storage devices, and network-attached storage (NAS) or storage area network (SAN) systems.
- Optimize storage capacity and performance by monitoring usage and planning for future storage needs.
- Implement data deduplication and compression techniques to maximize storage efficiency.
- Configure and manage systems, including filers, arrays, and clusters.
- Ensure data stored is accessible, protected, and efficiently organized.
- Configure and manage Pure Storage arrays and systems, ensuring high-performance, all-flash storage for critical workloads.
- Hands on experience in managing and configuring Brocade switches.
- Zoning and configuration of an HBA port and an iSCSI initiator is a required skillset.
- Ensure the security of stored data through encryption, access controls, and user authentication.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss and downtime in the event of a catastrophe.
- Conduct regular tests and drills to validate the effectiveness of disaster recovery processes.
- Leverage Cohesity's features for data mobility and disaster recovery, ensuring the organization's ability to recover from data loss or system failures.
- Continuously monitor the storage and backup systems' performance and health.
- Implement performance optimization strategies to ensure data availability and access speed.
- Configure and manage storage systems, including filers, arrays, and clusters.
- Ensure data stored on systems is accessible, protected, and efficiently organized.
- Maintain documentation related to backup and storage processes, configurations, and procedures.
- Generate reports to track backup success rates, storage usage, and other relevant metrics.
- Fine-tune storage performance by optimizing caching, tiering, and data placement.
- Troubleshoot issues related to storage, resolve technical problems, and provide support to end-users as needed.
Minimal work experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience providing system engineering & systems architecture support for enterprise storage systems
- Solid understanding of Data Center & Cloud platform design, implementation, and support
- In-depth Knowledge of technologies from EMC, HP and Hitachi storage systems
- Storage array, SAN network and data-center systems trouble shooting experience
- Excellent analytical ability and communications skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with Cisco UCS and brocade SAN.
- Knowledge of storage disaster recovery and replication methodologies.
- Demonstrated planning, deploying competencies with data center and SAN networking elements such as Cisco MDS, at both an IP and Fibre-Channel level.
- Demonstrated planning, deploying competencies with Dell EMC Unity, VMAX3, and VNXe hybrid storage arrays, PowerStore 8000T, HP 3PAR and Hitachi VSP storage systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders, facilitate discussions, and present ideas clearly and concisely.

Pay: ₦300,000.00 - ₦700,000.00 per month
