Act as point of contact for all HSE matters for relevant operations, liaising and interfacing with relevant personnel whilst ensuring compliance is met on plans and procedures
Regularly review and update HSE policies to reflect changes in laws, regulations, and best practices.
Monitor compliance with the use of quality materials for various work schedules
Work with HSE manager to conduct HSE awareness programme for employees on best practices that will ensure safety while carrying out their day-to-day work schedules.
Investigate and maintain records of workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes, and suggest best practices for the organization to ensure its practices are healthy and safe.
Track and analyze incident trends to identify areas for improvement.
Maintain and communicate corporate safety and environmental policies throughout the HSE team.
Monitor the compliance of third party contractors in relation to company standards and requirements and provide assistance to contractors on requirements where necessary.
Ensure that safety and personal protective equipment are used following manufacturer’s instructions
Carry out other duties as delegated by the HSE Manager
Qualifications
B.Sc./B.Eng. in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
Relevant qualification in a technical and/or safety related discipline (NEBOSH, IOSH, or its equivalent)
3 - 5 years of work experience as an HSE personnel
In-depth knowledge of Nigerian HSE regulations and international HSE standards.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
