Job Description
Job Purpose
- The painter is responsible for performing skilled painting works in the hotel.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by scraping, washing, calcimining, applying paint and varnish remover, and brushing metal surfaces with wire brush to remove rust and scale.
- Mix and tint all types of paints.
- Mix different shades of paints to get different colors.
- Apply various types of paints to exterior and interior surfaces of buildings and structures by brush, roller or with spray equipment.
- Prime walls before painting, patches and spackles cracks and holes, and glazes windows.
- Assemble and disassemble staging, rigging of scaffolding.
- Clean, repair and store paintbrushes, rollers, spray equipment, ladders, scaffolds, rigging.
- Ensure to use masking tape.
- Ensure that all installations, repairs, and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and legislative requirements (HSE). An HSE booklet will be given to you.
- Attend to any other duties as may be assigned by management.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure compliance of the Hotel’s standards regarding proper equipment usage, health and safety and accident prevention policy of the Hotel.
- Attends periodic meetings with Maintenance Manager and department heads, conducts and/or participates in safety meetings at designated intervals with hotel staff.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety policies of the company with regards to PPEs.
- To clean and maintain all equipment and work areas after completion of work to prevent accidents.
Inventory:
- Proper management of stock of supplies and equipment.
- Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased.
