Responsibilities



  • Manage daily treasury operations, including cash management, liquidity planning, and financial risk management

  • Execute FX trading strategies to optimize currency conversions and manage exchange rate risks

  • Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions and trading partners across Africa

  • Monitor and analyse market trends, economic data, and geopolitical events to inform trading decisions

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business growth and operational efficiency

  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and mitigate risks

  • Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to founders and investors

  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes as a member of the founding team

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative financial products and services

  • Contribute to settlement, reconciliation and operational efficiencies


Requirements



  • 5+ years of experience in treasury operations, FX trading, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in intra-Africa trade and knowledge of the African financial markets.

  • Strong understanding of foreign exchange markets, currency risk management, and trading strategies.

  • Experience working with financial institutions, trading platforms, and payment systems.

  • Verifiable active clients currently being serviced by you.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in the financial industry.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.

  • An advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA) is an advantage.
