Job Description



We are looking for a qualified land surveyor to be responsible for preparing sites for construction and providing data on measurements to establish property boundaries. Land surveyors research legal boundaries, measurements of land, and perform mathematical calculations.


To be successful as a land surveyor, you should have great analytical and mathematical skills, possess a keen eye for detail, and have great communication skills. Ultimately, a good land surveyor should have extensive experience in performing complex measurements, analyzing data, and recording results accurately.


RESPONSIBILITIIES



  • Writing reports and sharing crucial information with colleagues and clients.

  • Verifying data and calculations.

  • Monitoring changes in the land during the construction process.

  • Producing maps using GPS, surveying instruments, digital images and satellite photographs.

  • Recording results of surveys.

  • Calculating the measurements of sites.

  • Writing descriptions of property boundaries.

  • Researching legal documents, survey records, and land titles to clarify information about property boundaries.


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS



  • Should have a Tertiary degree, preferably in Surveying

  • Proven experience as a Land Surveyor

  • The candidate should be able to use AutoCad, Total Station, GPS Total Station and Manual Total Station, Excel to set coordinates, prepare site plans with coordinate/master points.

  • Knowledge on alignment and verticality of buildings and vertical checks of buildings with Total Station.

  • Ability to analyze data using geographic information systems (GIS) and drawing charts using computer-aided design (CAD).

  • Good numeracy skills and the ability to make mathematical calculations.

  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
