The Regional Risk Manager supports the Regional Managers to provide Duty of Care to staff and consultants working in the field.
The position has supervisory responsibility for a network of security and safety professionals and oversight of any third-party suppliers and supports the work of the Global Response Centre (Assist360).
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Regional Director on safety and security issues and program planning for the region.
Establish a 24/7 Regional Security Operations Centre, supervise Field Security Officers and provide back up during leave periods.
Conduct field visits, risk assessments, and audits to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Evaluate and communicate potential risks associated with business operations within the region to the relevant stakeholders.
Support country teams with project implementation and attend planning and mobilisation meetings.
Attend routine management meetings across countries of operations.
Attend weekly team management meetings and conduct 6xTTX on various emergency scenarios each calendar year.
Participate in Incident Response and Crisis Management teams.
Support the Assist360 24/7 Global Response Centre to respond to client requests.
Standardize Duty of Care SOPs in alignment with the Global Safety & Security Policy.
Ensure consistent use of Duty of Care functions (TAYO SafeTrip & Incident Management) and prepare up-to-date risk assessments across the region.
Ensure the presence of trained first aiders and safety focal points at key CTG locations.
Prepare and deliver initial security inductions within 72 hours of first day of work of all employees and consultants; record attendance for initial security inductions.
Ensure mandatory quarterly security briefings are prepared, delivered and recorded for all consultants.
Ensure weekly security reports are prepared for each country of operation.
Prepare risk assessments for each country of operation on a quarterly basis or within 72 hours of a major incident (e.g. coup d'etat, kidnapping, major aviation disaster etc).
Conduct regular security reviews of airlines and airports, hotels, medical facilities.
Identify and build a database of security vendors (e.g. equipment suppliers, first aid training suppliers, etc.) and supervise those that are engaged by CTG.
Build and maintain a network of key security stakeholders.
Build strong relationships with clients’ safety and security leaders.
Upon request, support the HR Manager on interview boards for Field Security Officers
Upon request, support the Regional HR Manager with disciplinary reviews
Perform any other assigned duties.
