Job Summary:
The Programme Director will provide strategic leadership across all programs and operations, with a strong focus on communications and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of program management expertise, strategic vision, and the gravitas needed to represent the organization on various platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement strategies that align with the organization’s mission, adapting to changes in the healthcare and nonprofit sectors.
- Lead and inspire a growing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and development of staff and volunteers,ensuring the creation and enforcement of employee contracts and staff policies.
Programme Management
- Provide strategic direction and hands-on support for the organization’s project portfolio, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and organizational goals.
- Lead the ideation, planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs, ensuring timely execution and high impact.
- Establish clear SOPs, develop high-quality concept notes and work plans, and foster meaningful internal and external collaborations to ensure program success.
- Implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program impact and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Communications
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, representing its interests at local, regional, and international forums.
- Oversee the organization’s social media strategy, ensuring consistent and engaging content across all platforms.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with media outlets and key influencers to enhance the organization’s public profile.
- Lead the development of communication materials, including press releases, newsletters, and reports, ensuring alignment with the organization’s brand and mission.
- Develop annual reports and project reports.
Building Strategic Partnerships & Fundraising
- Develop and execute a stakeholder strategy for resource mobilization, including the creation of a detailed stakeholder map.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, and other key stakeholders to ensure a robust resource pipeline.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, providing strategic guidance on fundraising strategies.
- Oversee budgeting, expenditure forecasting, and financial compliance, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and goals.
Operations and Administration
- Lead the planning and execution of organizational events, including venue selection, speaker coordination, and logistics management.
- Streamline administrative processes, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and effective resource management.
- Oversee the recruitment, development, and management of volunteers, integrating them into the organization’s operations effectively.
Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years in operations and management roles within the nonprofit sector, with significant experience in program management and team leadership.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, ensuring successful delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and achieving shared goals.
- Strong capability in budgeting, financial forecasting, and expense management within a nonprofit context.
- Experience in developing and executing successful fundraising strategies and managing earned revenue streams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build partnerships and convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
