Job Description



Job Brief:


The Land Surveyor is responsible for conducting precise measurements to determine property boundaries, creating maps, and providing data relevant to the shape, contour, gravitation, location, elevation, or dimension of land or land features on or near the earth's surface for engineering, mapmaking, mining, land evaluation, construction, and other purposes. This role requires a strong understanding of surveying techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.



  • To carry out perimeter survey and established beacons to identify boundary.

  • To carry out topographic and detailing survey of all new site.

  • To process and produce workable drawings.

  • To carry out all setting out of buildings, roads and other facilities within the estate.

  • To determine DPC and road levels respectively.

  • To supervise and monitor all survey activities within a given site.

  • To report all survey activities.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all surveying activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as professional standards.

  • Prepare legal documents such as land descriptions and easements to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintenance of Equipment: Maintain, adjust, and operate surveying instruments and equipment to ensure accurate data collection.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with surveying tools and software.

  • Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to provide data that informs project planning and design.

  • Provide technical advice and consultation on land-related issues during the construction and development phases.


Skills:



  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in using surveying software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.


Qualifications:


Education:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field (required).

  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or equivalent certification (preferred).


Experience:



  • Proven experience as a Land Surveyor or in a related surveying role.

  • Familiarity with modern surveying technology, including GPS and GIS systems, as well as traditional surveying tools.
