Job Summary


As a FACS (Field Automation and Control Systems) Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for field automation and control systems in the flow station. Your role will involve troubleshooting, system configuration, installation, and ensuring the optimal performance of all control systems in the field.  You will collaborate closely with the maintenance and operations team to ensure that all systems are operating efficiently and safely.


Main Responsibilities



  • Lead the installation, configuration, and commissioning of Field Automation and Control Systems (FACS) on the field.

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of automation systems to ensure optimal performance.

  • Plan and execute system upgrades, including hardware replacements, software updates, and configuration changes, to enhance system capabilities.

  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, system configurations, and any modifications made. 

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, HMI (Human-Machine Interface), and other related equipment.

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for FACS, addressing any issues related to system performance, reliability, and functionality.

  • Conduct system testing to validate the correct functioning of automation and control systems. 

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices during the installation and commissioning phases.


Educational Qualifications and Skills



  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in field support engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

  • Proven experience with PLC, SCADA, HMI, and other automation systems.

  • Experience in system installation, configuration, and commissioning in a field environment.

  • Strong understanding of automation and control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, HMI, and instrumentation.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in a field setting.

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in remote and challenging environments.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
