The Total Market Approach (TMA) is a strategic framework designed to ensure the availability, accessibility, and affordability of essential health products across all market segments, including low-income populations. This approach emphasizes collaboration between public, private, and social sectors to address market gaps, improve health outcomes, and ensure the sustainability of programming


As part of our sustainability efforts and to drive the marketing and sales of essential health products that play a crucial role in improving public health outcomes, we are seeking dynamic, passionate individuals who have a strong background in sales and a passion for promoting health and wellness, to be part of a dedicated team that will be at the forefront of delivering vital health products to those who need them most.


Position Summary


The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be based in Lagos and will lead the development and execution of strategies to promote and sell health products including Water-based Personal Lubricant and Hand sanitizers among others). He/she will identify business opportunities, build partnerships, and expand market presence while meeting revenue targets. His/her specific role will include the following:


Specific responsibilities:



  • Develop & implement sales strategies to achieve regional sales goals.

  • Monitor sales performance and take corrective actions to meet or exceed sales objectives.

  • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify pain points, and take corrective measures to identify and augment growth opportunities.

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Business Development Associates

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team performance.

  • Stay informed about market trends, competitive products and activities, and new product development.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management.

  • Adjust strategies based on market dynamics and competitive activities.

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective relationship management.

  • Address and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and ensure the same is documented for evaluation and further enhancement of customer satisfaction levels.

  • Implement customer feedback to improve service quality.

  • Coordinate with the factory and project teams to ensure timely product availability and distribution.

  • Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment.

  • Timely preparation & submission of regular reports on sales performance

  • Effective communication between the regional team and head office.

  • Exercise oversight over the production factory staff and liaise with management to align the team's activities with the organization’s broader goals


Job Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Pharmacy, Biological Sciences, Sales & Marketing

  • 3-5 years of experience in sales and management within the pharma, retail & FMCG industry. An exposure to modern trade would be an added advantage.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve sales and company objectives

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze sales data and market trends

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills

  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills with retail partners

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

  • Proficiency in MS Office and exposure to CRM/Sales software
