Job Summary



  • Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Management Accountant.

  • The role holder will be responsible for analysing key financial information to provide insights that will aid in managerial planning and commercial decision-making, ensuring the future growth and profitability of the school.


Job Responsibilities



  • Preparing and managing budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial plans

  • Analysing financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

  • Preparing monthly management reports, tracking financial performance against budget

  • Ensuring accurate records of all payments and maintaining the debtor’s register

  • Performing month-end accounting, including reconciliations and journals

  • Conducting variance analysis comparing actual results to the budget and forecasts for each profit and cost center

  • Analysing and advising on the school's current and future expenditures for maximum ROI and project performance

  • Developing, proposing, and implementing school-wide plans to reduce financial risks and lower costs

  • Analysing trends and financial performance across business units/schools/departments

  • Proactively liaising with other departments and participating in systems and process improvement initiatives

  • Participating in project audits


Job Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

  • Minimum of 8years experience as a management accountant or related accounting experience

  • Proficiency in using accounting software e.g. Sage

  • Professional Certification (ICAN, ACA).

  • SIMS and FMS experience will be an added advantage

  • Experience in the education sector is preferred

  • Strong knowledge of knowledge of accounting principles and standards

  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
