The Role




  • As Regional Director, Nigeria your role will be to develop partnerships, establish relationships and scale Taptap Send’s business across Anglophone Africa.

  • You will work scoping out the best partners and products for money transfer and beyond, collaborating closely with key external stakeholders from policy makers, regulatory bodies, ecosystem partners and Financial institutions.

  • You will have experience in building relationships, executing partnerships and scaling a business across Nigeria. You will be excited to manage every aspect of key markets and thrive in operating solo, and within a team, in unfamiliar environments and figuring out what works and doesn’t. You will have an “own it” mindset, while equally obsessed with the experience of individual users. You enjoy challenges, and you’re a relentless relationship builder and maintainer. You are enthusiastic about working in the fast-paced environment of a rapidly growing startup.

Responsibilities




  • Own the relationship with existing partners in Nigeria

  • Work with regulators across the region

  • Identify the best partners and stakeholders in target countries and directly build relationships with them

  • Be the face of Taptap Send to new and existing partners, negotiating great deals and overseeing the process from first meeting to launch

  • Understand everything that’s going on in your markets through the tracking, analysis, and reporting of key metrics

  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Ops, Business Development, and Engineering teams to ensure Taptap Send has the best product offering in the market

  • Work with other members of the Growth team to develop and share best practices



Requirements




  • 10+ years of experience in a high-performing, fast-paced environment (tech, professional services etc)

  • Exposure to working with regulators and policy makers in Nigeria

  • Experience in Financial services, Fintech or Payments

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • A data-driven decision-making mindset and business acumen

  • “No task too small” mentality and willingness to delve into gritty details to get things done

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Passion for working with and for diaspora communities

  • Fluent in English, other languages a plus

  • This role will be located in Lagos, Nigeria
