Job Summary
- A Hotel Cashier is responsible for handling financial transactions at the hotel’s front desk, restaurant, or other service areas.
- They ensure accurate billing, process payments, and provide excellent customer service while maintaining financial records.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Transactions & Payments:
- Process check-in and check-out payments, room charges, and other guest expenses.
- Handle cash, credit/debit cards, and digital transactions securely and accurately.
- Issue receipts, refunds, or adjustments as necessary.
Billing & Financial Reconciliation:
- Prepare and verify guest invoices and folios.
- Balance cash drawers and reconcile daily transactions.
- Assist with night audits and financial reporting.
Customer Service & Support:
- Address guest inquiries regarding billing, charges, and hotel services.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Provide information about promotions, discounts, and special offers.
Compliance & Security:
- Ensure adherence to hotel policies and financial regulations.
- Maintain the confidentiality of guest and financial information.
- Report discrepancies or suspicious activities to management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (a degree in hospitality or accounting is a plus).
- Experience in cash handling, hotel front desk, or accounting (preferred).
- Strong numerical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio, PMS).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
