Job Summary
- As the Lead Event Planner, you will architect the blueprint for unforgettable events while mentoring a high-performing team.
- Beyond logistics, you’ll be astrategic partner to clients, translating their vision into actionable plans that balance innovation, budget, and risk.
- You’ll own end-to-end planning for our projects, setting new standards for excellence in Nigeria’s events industry.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Client Partnership (Essential):
- Conduct deep-dive discovery sessions to uncover client objectives, KPIs, and success metrics.
- Develop event master plans integrating creative concepts and technical specifications
- Present strategic proposals to clients, including ROI analysis and risk mitigation frameworks.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor junior planners; foster a culture of proactive problem-solving.
- Lead cross-functional briefings with creative, production, and logistics teams to ensure alignment.
- Implement quality control checkpoints and post-event retrospectives to drive continuous improvement.
Budget Compliance:
- Own end-to-end budget management: forecasting, cost tracking, reconciliation, and profitability analysis.
- Ensure compliance with Lagos venue regulations, safety standards (e.g., fire codes, crowd control), and vendor contracts.
Innovation & Crisis Management (Essential):
- Develop contingency plans for high-risk scenarios (weather, supply chain, security).
Vendor & Stakeholder Management (Essential):
- Negotiate master service agreements with premium vendors (venues, caterers.)
- Partner with marketing teams to amplify event reach through social/digital channels.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience:5-7+ years in event planning, with 2+ years leading teams for corporate/agency environments.
- Possible Desired Skills:
- Mastery of event tools: Project Management software(Asana/Trello).
- Advanced budget modelling (Excel/Google Sheets) and financial reporting.
- Flawless client presentation skills (Google Slides/Canva).
- Industry Knowledge:
- Lagos/Nigerian vendor networks, venue landscapes, and regulatory requirements.
- Trends: immersive tech (AR/VR), sustainable sourcing, inclusive design.
