Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing on heavy-duty machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in equipment.
- Conduct repairs and component replacements as required.
Equipment Inspection:
- Carry out routine inspections to identify potential issues before they become major failures.
- Test and verify equipment performance after repairs.
Troubleshooting:
- Identify root causes of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system malfunctions.
- Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to resolve issues efficiently.
Field Service Support:
- Provide on-site technical support for machinery breakdowns when required.
- Ensure timely resolution of field service requests.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts used.
- Complete service reports and submit them to the service supervisor.
Safety Compliance:
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry regulations.
- Ensure safe use of tools, equipment, and machinery.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with service advisors, parts departments, and supervisors to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Support other technicians and assist in training junior staff when required.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or a related field.
- Relevant technical training in heavy-duty equipment maintenance.
Experience:
- 3 - 5 years of experience working with heavy-duty machinery or construction equipment.
- Experience with brands such as excavators, loaders, forklifts, generators, or similar equipment is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and transmission systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.
- Experience using diagnostic tools and service equipment.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet service deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
