  • We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Project Engineer to join our team.

  • As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing operating processes used to complete projects and check that staff members perform their duties to a high standard to ensure the project runs smoothly, oversee the needs of the client, and find ways to improve processes.

  • To plan, organise, and control all elements of the project and ensure the requirements of contracts are being satisfied within the stipulated budget and timeframe.



Main Responsibilities




  • Responsible for scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the technical and managerial aspects of projects.

  • Prepare, coordinate, and monitor a project from the initial conception to the schedule and final completion whether onshore, offshore, or swamp.

  • Involved with the planning and forecasting of budgets and timelines to assure that the project is accurately completed to schedule.

  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to members of the team so that everything is completed on time. This involves mentoring the project team and managing its performance.

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting standards are maintained throughout the project(s).

  • Monitoring project status reports and change orders.

  • Perform quality control checks throughout all stages of the schedule to ensure budgets are kept, deadlines are met, and the performance of the team is as it should be.

  • Comply with quality policy in line with ISO 9001:2015 standard.

  • Ensure safety and QA/QC programs are established by all parties and maintained, and conduct reviews of detailed design drawings and specifications.

  • Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects.

  • Participate in client/contractor meetings and resolve client, engineering, and management project issues.

  • Identify engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented.

  • Evaluate, organise, and prioritise workload within a schedule.

  • Liaise with third-party contractors to ensure all equipment is fit for purpose.

  • Head the site HSE meeting/discussion and attend the morning pep talk before the start of work.

  • Attend safety meetings when programmed.

  • Investigate and give first-hand information/details on all accidents on the site.

  • Conduct checks on personal protective equipment and encourage their use.

  • Head the incident investigation team.

  • Wear appropriate PPE on site.

  • Stop any work that can potentially harm people, assets, or the environment.

  • Be responsible for the protection of lives and assets of the company.



Qualifications / Requirements




  • B.Sc or HND in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Experience: 5 - 8 years hands-on experience as a Project Engineer working in the oil and gas industry.

  • Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) membership.

  • PMP certification is an added advantage.

  • HSE Level 3 minimum.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Work experience in offshore environments.

  • Should reside in Port Harcourt or be willing to relocate.



Skills and Competencies:




  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System or Software).

  • Microsoft Office Project.

  • Primavera.

  • Strong track record of successfully completed projects.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.

  • Ability to use own initiative.

  • The ability to explain design ideas and plans clearly.

  • Confident decision-making ability.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

  • The ability to work within budgets and to deadlines.

  • A comprehensive knowledge of relevant legal regulations.

  • Good team-leading skills.
