Job Summary
- Afripoint Group and its subsidiaries are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and support the company’s financial operations.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial documentation, preparing financial reports, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures across the group.
- Professional accounting certification is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the company and its subsidiaries.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Monitor financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Track outstanding payments and follow up where necessary.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Perform periodic bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure proper financial controls.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and statutory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.).
- Liaise with auditors and regulatory authorities when required.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare management reports and financial statements.
- Provide financial analysis to support business decision-making.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and financial reviews.
Internal Controls:
- Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and procedures.
- Support implementation of effective financial control systems.
- Assist with internal and external audit processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
Experience Requirements:
- 2–4 years relevant accounting experience.
- Experience working in a corporate or multi-business environment is an advantage.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Good understanding of taxation and financial regulations in Nigeria.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
