We are seeking a proactive, results-driven, and customer-focused Sales Representative to join our lubricants business.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new sales opportunities, promoting and selling automotive and industrial lubricants, building strong customer relationships, and achieving sales targets.
The successful candidate should have a good understanding of the lubricant market and be comfortable engaging with auto workshops, mechanics, transport companies, dealers, retailers, distributors, and other businesses that use lubricants.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, field visits, networking, referrals, and market research.
Promote and sell the company's lubricants and related products to prospective and existing customers.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with mechanics, auto workshops, fleet operators, transport companies, retailers, dealers, distributors, and corporate customers.
Visit prospective and existing customers regularly to generate orders and maintain business relationships.
Educate customers on the appropriate lubricants and products for their vehicles, machinery, and operational needs.
Follow up promptly on leads, inquiries, quotations, and sales opportunities.
Achieve and exceed assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Monitor customer orders, payments, deliveries, and outstanding balances where applicable.
Prepare and submit regular sales reports, customer feedback, competitor updates, and market intelligence.
Identify market gaps and recommend opportunities for increasing product distribution and sales.
Monitor competitors' pricing, promotions, products, and market activities.
Negotiate pricing and sales terms within approved company guidelines.
Work closely with the operations and distribution teams to ensure timely order processing and delivery.
Maintain accurate records of customers, prospects, orders, and sales activities.
Requirements
Minimum of an OND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or a related field.
Proven experience in sales, business development, FMCG, automotive, lubricants, or a related customer-facing role.
Experience selling to mechanics, auto workshops, retailers, distributors, fleet operators, or businesses will be an added advantage.
Strong communication, negotiation, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, conduct field sales activities, and achieve set targets.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Basic knowledge of AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude AI.
Strong customer relationship management and follow-up skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Must be resident in or around Otukpo, Benue State.
